Specialised translation: literature, art, illustrated books and graphic novels

Carlos Mayor studied Translation (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 1991) and Journalism (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, University of Leeds, 1994). He started translating professionally in 1990 and has also worked as a journalist and as an editor. He teaches translation since 1992 (University of the West Indies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra). He was co-editor of Dos.Dos magazine, has written for several magazines and has edited a monography on Henri Cartier-Bresson. He is also a member of Barcelona Kontext, a team of translators working in exhibition projects and art books.

He specialises in the translation of literature, art critique and history, illustrated books and graphic novels. He has translated authors such as Tom Wolfe, Doris Lessing, Vita Sackville-West, Saki, Emilio Salgari, Thomas Hardy, John Steinbeck and Rudyard Kipling.
